Long Live Lead Sleds
Before fiberglass, before billet, before cars that look like they rolled out of a catalog—there were lead sleds.
Chopped tops. Filled seams. Hours of lead work so the body looked like it was poured, not stamped. A Merc (or Ford, or Chevy) lowered until the running boards almost scraped, flames licking down the flanks, and a stance that said this thing was built in a garage, not a factory. These weren’t restorations. They were statements.
This shirt pays tribute to that era. A purple kustom with classic flames, floating dice, stars, and the words every traditional custom guy still believes: Long Live Lead Sleds. It’s for the guys who know what a lead paddle feels like, who still talk about how a chopped ’49 Merc sits just right, and who think a car isn’t finished until the bodywork is dead-smooth and the stance is mean.
Wear it to the show, the cruise, or the shop while you’re still chasing that perfect chop. The kustoms that started it all never really left. They just got louder on a black tee.
Long live the sleds. Long live the guys who built them.
