A child of the 60s, I was born and raised in the Inland Northwest, briefly transplanted to the mid west, and am currently thriving in sunny Orange Ca. My journey designing cars professionally began when I was 17, with the Jolly Rancher wheel standing fire truck. Along the way I spent many years working a "day job" as a UPS driver, but around the turn of the century committed to full time freelance design.

I have been a "recognized" name in the hot rod/custom culture/lowbrow art scene for decades, and co-created a well known northwest car club "Thee Inland Emperors". I've  even been lucky enough to own an actual "Barris" kustom, the 1951 ASTRA coupe...

My work has been featured and published in hundreds of magazines. I have designed AMBR and RIDLER contenders, cover cars, record setting cars, cars for video games, toy lines, and apparel and merchandise for countless well known clients.  I am perhaps most proud of my connection to Star Wars, and the line of Star Wars Hot Wheels cars I helped create... My Clients list include General Motors, Acura, Mattel, EA Games, Galpin Ford (GAS), Jagermeister, Disney, Lucas film, Universal pictures, Billetproof, ZZtop, Speedway motors, Goodguys, Shine speedshop, Walden speed shop, Old Anvil speedshop, IDA concepts, SEMA and so many more I cant possibly list them all.

I am proud to say that I am self taught and have over three decades of experience. An expert conceptual sketch artist, highly skilled in several forms of digital art from Adobe suite to Fusion 360 3-D modeling, and respectable with a paint and brush. My design sense is proudly outside of the box and has been proven time and time again to set trends rather than follow them.

I am also proud of my 20 year plus association to the car show circuit Billetproof which I now own but has been in limbo since the covid shutdowns of '20 threw '22, perhaps it will return in 2023. Perhaps you would like to franchise a show? hit me up

Most recently, after rebranding Jimmy Shine into Shine Speedshop and spending 4 years designing, marketing and overseeing projects for that shop, in summer of '22 I accepted a partnership in Old Anvil Speed shop. Along with my friends and partners Paul and Jenna Bosserman we have a dozen top notch projects underway and are about to launch a brand new line of Anvil speed parts, wheels and merchandise... check me out on that site also.

Whatever your project might be, from a complete build at Old Anvil to concept art or a new shop shirt design or logo, I am sure I can offer you fresh ideas and help you achieve your goals. Or, take a peek in my store for some original art, banner prints and apparel. My doodles can be custom ordered and are the perfect size and price to gift to your friends :)
